I was born in 1964 in Tacoma, Washington. I grew up in Southern California and now split my time between Huntington Beach and Joshua Tree. I graduated from Cal State Long Beach with a BA in Art in 1987. I worked as a graphic designer and screen printer several years before becoming a High School Art teacher which I did for 32 years. I've been making work all along the way and I'm now so fortunate to have the time to dedicate to further exploring my passions: painting/drawing/photography/mixed media

I would say the principal drives in my work come from the environment and my personal connections. You'll see a lot of influence from the desert landscape and man made structures on it lately. I'm interested in paths and interiors and windows. I love to mountain bike, hike and generally be outside where I find lots of the inspiration for my work.
